Lori De Vita Hofman
La Petite Musique
Lori De Vita Hofman is both a musician and a parent - two credentials she feels are vital in order to be successful in teaching music to young children. She started teaching in New York City, working in several private music schools. Upon relocating to New Jersey, Ms. Hofman worked at the Monmouth Conservatory of Music where she took the fledgling Doors to Music program to renowned heights.
Ms. Hofman has run several musical programs for youngsters in Marlboro Township and worked in the town's public schools writing shows for grades K-6. She has taught music and musical theater in many private schools throughout Monmouth and Ocean Counties, including the Home Away from Home Academy, The Family Montessori School, and St. Rose of Belmar Elementary School. She has also written and directed several children's musicals for The Marlboro Players.
She has taught Doors to Music, the highly successful keyboard program, in the Red Bank Public Schools, a project funded by PNC Bank. Ms. Hofman served as one of the directors for Blossom International, a charitable organization dedicated to inspiring "the art of goodness" in our children. She headed Cultural Education 4 Kids which promoted literacy and tolerance through its reading programs and projects. This winter, Ms. Hofman will spearhead a holiday show that will be comprised of students singing and accompanying on piano and other instruments. The show will be brought to assisted living facilities and senior homes in the area.
Ms. Hofman loves music but she loves teaching children even more!
