Jeff Brown

Jeff Brown

Jeff Brown is an American singer, guitarist and songwriter who has been performing and writing music for over thirty years. He had an early interest in music, his first outlets were singing, playing the piano and the trombone, and he studied music privately for many years before teaching himself the basics on the guitar at the age of fourteen.

Jeff's influences are deeply based in the roots of American music and his writings draw heavily from country, rock and blues. His songs provide the listener with strong melodies supported by heartfelt lyrics and cover the achievements and struggles of love and life that all can relate to. His powerful voice and rhythmic styles provide the type of raw emotion that an audience can really grab onto, and it is backed by an honesty that proves he has lived those emotions that he shares.

Jeff was first active on the Jersey Shore scene in the late 1980's as a founding member of America's Choice along with bluesman Frank Fotusky. The pair also performed together after the turn of the century, in an early form of the blues group The Otis Brown Band.

Jeff actively performs as a solo acoustic artist and as a member of The Otis Brown Band and The Cryers. He joined The Cryers in 2002 and they actively perform their own material world wide, as well as backing up rock/pop legends from the past, such as Terry Sylvester, formerly of The Hollies, Denny Laine, formerly of Paul McCartney and Wings and founding member of The Moody Blues, and John Ford Coley of England Dan and John Ford Coley just to name a few.

In 2006, Jeff released a solo CD entitled "Alone and Together" which includes 9 original tracks, two of which were co-written with renowned songwriter Henry Jack Williams, whose work has been recorded by Greg Allman, The Oak Ridge Boys, Uriah Heap and numerous others.

In 2008, Jeff provided three original songs for debut CD by The Cryers, and six more for their highly-touted sophomore release, "Rock And Roll Holiday," in 2011 for Retro Rocket Records. A new solo release full of original songs is also set for release in early 2013.

Over the past few decades, Jeff has entertained audiences all over his native New Jersey and the USA, and in nine countries around the world including Canada and much of Western Europe.

Other performance credits include opening for Jefferson Starship, Eric Burdon & The Animals, Ambrosia, Richie Havens, The Pete Best Band, Connie Francis, The Platters, Bobby Lewis, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, The Drifters and more. He has also been seen, in recent years, performing with The Bay city Rollers featuring Ian Mitchell, original British Invader and opening act for The Beatles, Billy J. Kramer, Joey Molland of Badfinger, Jimi Jamison formerly of Survivor, Laurence Juber, former guitarist of Wings and numerous others.
